After losing the chance to become the first EU president, Tony Blair is once again in the spotlight. Leaked British government documents are calling into question the former British Prime Minister's public statements on the buildup to the Iraq war. That's according to Britain's Sunday Telegraph.
In July 2002, Tony Blair told lawmakers that there were no preparations for Britain to invade Iraq.
But documents published by the Sunday Telegraph offer a different picture.
It's based on private statements made by senior British military figures.
According to the report, some planning for the Iraq war had begun five months earlier, but were so badly drafted they left troops poorly equipped and ill-prepared.
