The drought in South Australia is worsening due to record November temperatures. Rivers and lakes in the region are drying up as other parts of the country draw on the same resources.
Three years of below average rainfall has led to water shortages. Local politicians have been arguing that little water is left for their citizens, because too much is used by other parts of the country.
More than half of the dairy farms in the region have sold their herds in the last few years, and more businesses are now at risk.
While the region is badly in need of rain, long term forecasts suggest the low rainfall is likely to continue.
