China stresses stable economic policy

China has outlined its economic development plan for the coming year, emphasizing stable economic policies in 2010. As efforts to revive the economy with a major stimulus program continue, top leaders wrapped up their annual planning meeting in Beijing on Friday.

The meeting of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee agreed that the nation should maintain stable macro-economic policies.

2010 marks the the second year of a stimulus program which has seen China inject about 4 trillion yuan or 586 billion US dollars to pump up growth and ward off the impact of the global downturn. 2010 also marks the end of China's 11th five-year economic plan.
