Two stock markets post trading drops

A pair of major stock markets slid one percent in Thursday's trading. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 133 points, while Standard and Poor's 500 Index dropped 13 points.

The dollar jumped to a three-month high against the euro, a sign of risk aversion in the market.

Investor confidence was further sapped as a soft profit outlook from FedEx Corp failed expectations.
