At least 9 killed in Peru mudslide

Firefighters and rescue workers have struggled to pull survivors trapped in mud, before more rain hits the region.

At least nine people were killed and 20 others injured in the mudslide, caused by torrential rain in southwest Peru on Wednesday night.

The wave of mud and rocks swamped the city of Ayacucho, 500-kilometers southeast of Lima.
