MOC: No indication Google is leaving

Ministry of Commerce spokesman, Yao Jian, has denied having received any indication from Google that the company plans to leave China.

He says the nation's investment environment has gradually improved since the implementation of the Reform and Opening-Up Policy. Yao adds that China will continue to provide a sound environment for overseas investors.

This is the first official response from the Chinese side since a senior Google executive posted an Internet statement on Tuesday, revealing that the firm is considering leaving China following what he said was a massive cyber attack.

The Ministry of Commerce says any decision made by Google to withdraw from the country will not affect Sino-US trade relations.
