Tony Blair has defended his 2003 decision to join the US in invading Iraq. During a public inquiry on Friday, the former British Prime Minister argued that the September 11, 2001 attacks made the threat of weapons of mass destruction impossible to ignore.

Blair says he has no regret for going to war and removing Saddam Hussein. He made the remarks during six hours of intense questioning in London by a panel investigating the war. His 2003 decision has provoked huge protests and accusations he had deceived the public about the reasons for invasion.
