The majority of students in Chile have returned to their classrooms after the country was hit by an 8.8-magnitude earthquake.

Chile's Education Minister personally welcomed students at a school in the capital Santiago on Monday, nine days after the devastating quake.

Monica Jimenez, Chile's Education Minister, said, "It is not an inauguration but it is very good news. Today about 80 percent of the children are going back into the school system and it is very good news."
