Hundreds of protesters in Lebanon and across Turkey have demonstrated against Israel's plans to build 1,600 apartments in East Jerusalem.

By protesting against Israel's construction plans, demonstrators in Beirut were aiming to show support for the Palestinians.

Hassan Ezzeddine, Hezbollan Senior Official, said, "The protest is to assure everyone that the Palestinian cause, and the holy sites are what all Muslims and Arabs are interested in. Today we are here to lend our weight to them, to their stance and their confrontation, as they take on the arrogance of Israel and the US."
