Officials denies mine accident in Sierra Leone

Officials, in Sierra Leone have denied media reports that a mine accident has killed up to 200 people, near the southern town of Bo.

Unconfirmed local reports, said that up to 200 people were missing or had been killed at the mine, with around 20 people having already escaped. But officials from the Ministry of Mineral Resources visited the area, and denied the accident had occurred. Cluff Gold, the British company which runs the mine has also confirmed that there had been no accident there.
