Five days after a flooded coal mine trapped more than 100 people in Shanxi province, rescuers say they've heard noises from deep inside the tunnel.

That could indicate that some of the workers are still alive. More than 3-thousand people are now working day and night, drilling holes to pump out water.

After some grueling work, rescuers managed to drill a deep hole and insert a steel tube down to the flooded area.

It's through this tube they discovered signs of survival.
