New gov't installed by opposition in Kyrgyzstan

The latest developments have the opposition claiming to have installed a new government in Kyrgyzstan.

The new administration is led by Roza Otunbayeva, the country's former foreign minister and leader of the Social Democratic faction.

According to opposition leaders, Prime Minister Daniyar Usenov resigned, and the opposition entered the building where the government operates.

Reports also claim President Kurmanbek Bakiyev left the capital of Bishkek.

At least 17 people were killed and 180 others were injured in clash between police and opposition protesters in the capital city of Bishkek Wednesday, the Health Ministry said.
