Protesters are continuing to stage a sit-in around the central square of Mongolia's capital. The government is facing growing public pressure to dissolve the Parliament.

The demonstrations began on Monday with more than five-thousand participants demanding that Parliament be dissolved, and promised aid be handed out.

The protesters have been criticizing the government's policies, which they say have led into an unequal distribution of the nation's mining wealth.

Sit-in leaders have now announced they plan to stage a hunger strike. Mongolia's Parliament has rejected the demonstrators' dissolution demands.
