Special Report: Unrest in Kyrgyzstan |

The deputy prime minister of the Kyrgyzstan interim government, Almazbek Atambayev, has left to meet Russian officials in Moscow. The aim of Friday's trip is unknown, but sources say he's traveling to get economic aid.

All Kyrgyz government's major departments are flying flags at half mast. Thousands of grieving residents have gathered in the city's main square, to mourn the victims of this week's unrest. Two days earlier, security forces opened fire on a crowd that tried to storm the main government building. But Bishkek is gradually returning to normal and public transport has resumed. Fruit and vegetable sellers have arrived at the main open-air market, even though it's officially shut.
