"Go Lala Go!" to open in Chinese cinemas

Urban romance film "Go Lala Go" will open in Chinese cinemas on April 15th. The film stars director Xu Jinglei herself as the female protagonist. Recently, she led a stellar cast to meet the Beijing press.

The film is adapted from the 2007 best-selling novel "Du Lala's Promotion".

The story, about a diligent woman who takes the high road to promotion, has been hailed as a must-read guide for all white-collar workers. It center's on the female protagonist Lala's joys and pains as she grows from an office rookie into an HR manager.

"Go Lala Go" is the fourth feature film directed by Xu Jinglei.

In the film, Xu portrays Lala an an apparent fashionista. That is owed to "Sex and the City" costume designer Patricia Filed, who was invited to be the film's costume advisor.

The film also stars Taiwan-based Chinese-American hip-hop artist Stanley Huang, as well as three other beautiful ladies, including Hong Kong singer and actress Karen Mok, mainland hostess-turned-actress Li Ai, and Taiwan model-turned-actress Pace Wu.
