At least 26 people including six police were also wounded in the attack. It's the second this weekend in the Kohat area.

A local police officer said the truck was loaded with up to 250 kilograms of explosives. The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack.

Qari Hussain, a top Pakistani Taliban commander said the suicide blast was revenge for a recent army strike on a militant-run hospital in the South Waziristan tribal area.
