Shenzhou-11 docks with Tiangong-2 space lab
China's Jing Haipeng will be the only astronaut in the country to go to space for the third time. He will be the commander of the Shenzhou-11 spacecraft.
And he was also in the Shenzhou 7 and 9 spacecraft.
China is counting on the younger gergeneration to conduct future missions. For
themissions on Shenzhou-11 and Tiangong-2, ex-fighter pilot Chen Dong
has been selected.
Two astronauts who completed China's longest-ever manned space mission returned to Earth safely Friday afternoon, according to the Beijing Aerospace Control Center (BACC).
The spacecraft Shenzhou-11, which is carrying taikonauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong, separated from the orbiting Tiangong-2 space lab at 12:41 p.m. Thursday Beijing Time.
Chinese astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong are currently on a 33-day space journey and acting as Xinhua special correspondents. On Tuesday, they talked with their copy desk on earth for the first time.
