To motorsports now -- and Chinese racing fans in this country may have a future star to cheer for. 17-year-old Zhou Guanyu is competing in European Formula 3 Championship with Motopark.

He is the mainland Chinese driver selected by the Ferrari Driver Academy, and the young talent is back in his home country as part of the Academy Carnival tour.

The youngster started his driver career go-carting at the age of eight. He showed a knack for the sport and was overseas by his parents four years ago in order to improve his driving ability.

He would go on to win three junior divisions. He transfered from Carting to Formula racing in 2015 and earned second place in the overall standing during the 2015 Italian F4 Championship.

Zhou graduated to F3 this year and is the first Chinese to stand on the podium in the circuit as he took third spot in the opening race of Euro F3. And being exposed to a different continent he knows there are big differences between driving in Europe and China.
