As Euro 2016 enters its business end, the race for the Golden boot is as unpredictable as the competition itself.

Goal scoring for the tournament overall is down from four years ago, but there are plenty of take-aways with who has scored.

Here is a quick look at some intriguing stats when it comes to who has been finding the net.

The two top teams from this year's UEFA Champion's league finals, were Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, and players from those sides have scored the most. Wales, Gareth Bale has three. Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a pair for Portugal, and the other Los Blancos marker came from Croatia's Luka Modric.

Antoine Griezmann has scored thrice for France, and his atletico teammate -- Yannick Carrasco has found the net for Belgium.

Players from Italian champs Juventus have also tallied four times, three from Spain's Alvaro Morata, and one from Giorgio Chiellini.

And six different clubs have scored three goals. Those teams are Fiorentina, Norwich, Inter Milan, Besiktas, Bursaspor and Fenerbahce.

As for which league's players have performed best, despite being ousted from the tournament, footballers from English teams sit top. 22 goals have come from EPL players. 18 different marksmen, from 13 different clubs.

That is 8 better than performers from La Liga.

Athletes from Serie A have managed to find the net 13 times.

And surprisingly, the fourth best performing league, is Turkey's Super League -- 11 goals have come from footballers who ply their trade there.
