Feng is the highest ranked golfer male or female from the world's most populous nation, and is China's best chance to grab gold on the links.

She is currently 13th in the world rankings, and turned pro in 2007 when she was 18. Her highest ever ranking was number four in 2013. The 26-year-old joined the LPGA tour in 2008, and has four victories on the circuit, and six on the European tour.

She is the only player from China, male or female to win a major, capturing the 2012 LPGA championship, a bogey-free 67 in the final round helping her to a two-stroke victory.
