If you think about the top sporting nations in the world the chances are you would not think of Italy and yet they have a long and proud tradition across a number of sports. In fact, they are currently in the top ten in the medal standings.

But unlike the top nations the Italians approach to sport is like their approach to life - enjoyment is what's important. Tracey Holmes spoke to the Italian who is an IOC vice president and the organization's Permanent Observer to the United Nations, Mario Pescante.
