Qualifying continues in South America, and that includes Lionel Messi returning to the Argentine national team. He is back in the line-up after re-thinking his retirement from international duty. But his inclusion in their match against Uruguay was up in the air, as the five-time world player of the year picked up a leg injury in Barcelona's win over Atletic Bilbao this past weekend.

The Argentina captain would create something out of nothing three minutes before halftime when, surrounded by defenders, his shot from outside the box took a deflection and wrongfooted the keeper.

It took Messi's record as Argentina's top scorer to 56 in 114 international appearances and was the difference, as his team who were reduced to 10 men.

The victory puts Argentina at the top of South America's qualifying group. And afterwards Messi discussed his return from retirement.
