The leader of Taiwan's Kuomintang Party, Hung Hsiu-chu has wrapped up her visit to the Chinese Mainland. She boarded a plane this afternoon for Taipei. Hung says the visit was a success, and one which will be beneficial for future cross-Strait relations.

"For cross-Strait relations, we think we must make another breakthrough, which is a responsibility that our KMT party should not shirk.  The visit produced a bountiful harvest, which we believe is good for the future of cross-strait peaceful and stable development and communication," Hung said.

Last on Hung's schedule was the two-day Cross-Strait Peaceful Development Forum that concluded this morning. Hung began her trip by visiting Nanjing, capital of eastern China's Jiangsu province, and paid her respects to KMT founder Sun Yat-sen at his mausoleum. On Tuesday, Hung and her delegation visited a center for Taiwan start-ups after arriving in Beijing.

Later that day, Xi Jinping, in his capacity as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, met with Hung. They discussed issues related to 1992 Consensus, which holds to the "One-China" principle, and bilateral cooperation.
