The Qingming Festival, or Tomb Sweeping Day, is a traditional Chinese festival that dates back more than 2,500 years. It falls on the first day of the fifth solar term of the year - usually varied from April 4 to 6.

As the name implies, the holiday was initially a time when the admiration for life mixed with the sorrow of death. It is when the county pays tribute to deceased family members and worships ancestors.
