Elizabeth Maruma Mrema, Executive Secretary of UN Convention on Biological Biodiversity, believes countries will support actions to conserve biodiversity. The 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) kicks off in Kunming City of Yunnan Province in southwest China on Oct. 11. The conference will review the "post-2020 global biodiversity framework" to draw up a blueprint for biodiversity conservation in the future. Following high-level meetings, a declaration will be issued that is expected to provide a global roadmap for the conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of biodiversity and ecosystems for the next decade.
