Official: Zimbabwe supports China hosting Winter Olympics

The government of Zimbabwe fully supports China's hosting of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and opposes attempts by Western countries to politicize the Games, said Zimbabwe's Minister of Information, Monica Mutsvangwa, according to a recent interview. Mutsvangwa said the government of Zimbabwe wishes the upcoming Games success and brilliance. She noted that it is a right move for China to host the Winter Olympics and Paralympics and she hopes Beijing can focus on preparing for the Olympics. She also stressed that sports should remain pure and never get politicized.
