China's pragmatic efforts and positive progress made in ecological environment governance within its high-quality development structure has set an exemplar for the rest of the world, said a former UN high official in the biodiversity sector. Oliver Hillel, who served as the programme officer at the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) from 2006 to 2023, said that China is making these endeavors with experience and knowledge rather than fully relying on capital, and such pattern is worth the world to learn in ecological environment governance.
