IMF chief: China remains growth engine despite forecast global economic slowdown

International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief Kristalina Georgieva has expressed confidence that China is anticipated to remain a strong growth engine for the world while warning of slowed pace of the global economic recovery this year and the next, amid high inflation and heightened uncertainties. Georgieva said that she is confident that China will meet its economic growth target of around 5 percent for 2023.
