A rare plant species endemic to China, Petrocosmea panzhouensis, has recently entered full bloom inside a karst cave on the Niangniang Mountain in Panzhou City, southwest China's Guizhou Province. Looking like graceful lavender butterflies, it was named after Panzhou as a newly described species in 2022. This plant has so far been found in only two populations on the Niangniang Mountain.
