Global growth is forecast at 3.0 percent in 2026, showing resilience despite the Middle East conflict, as technology-driven activity cushions the blow and produces widely varying outcomes across regions, according to an official with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Deniz Igan, chief of the IMF Research Department's World Economic Studies Division, made the remarks after the IMF projected on Wednesday that global growth will slow to 3.0 percent in 2026 before recovering to 3.4 percent in 2027.
