The people of Syria's capital Damascus are showing their support for their compatriots who are suffering in Aleppo. The increasing number of casualties is leading to a quite serious shortage of blood reserves in city hospitals, and many are going out of their way to give. At night, many are choosing to light candles and pray for those in danger, especially the children.

"We are preparing for an international event in Iran, one of the most difficult events in the world. The event is drawing near, and we should not donate blood now, but we are happy to support our compatriots in Aleppo," said Ibrahim, blood donor.

"We came here to donate blood for the people and children in Aleppo. All Syrians are brothers. We came from all over Syria, and this is the only thing that we can provide, blood for Aleppo residents," said Nasir, another blood donor.

"I want to tell the children in Aleppo loudly that we are together with them because all of us are Syrian," said Batool, Damascus resident.
