Full coverage: The South China Sea Issue
Several political parties from foreign countries have voiced their support for China's stance to open dialogue with the Philippines over the South China Sea issue. Chairman of Turkey's Patriotic Party, Dogu Perincek, said that China is not obliged to accept the arbitration verdict and the presence of outside forces in the issue is risky.
"We believe the arbitral tribunal has no jurisdiction over the South China Sea issue. The Philippines unilaterally filed a compulsory arbitration against China. It is probably to pave the way for more international powers to intervene. We think this is the wrong way. The issue should be resolved through dialogue between related countries. We also firmly oppose attempts by any external forces to interfere," Dogu Perincek said.
