Thousands of video gamers and developers across the globe are gathering in the German city of Cologne for the annual Gamescom Trade Fair. This year, the convention focuses on virtual reality. Developers brought their latest VR gadgets, ready for previews.

Visitors, meanwhile, have their hands full -- as they can try out a variety of VR games, or even attend lectures and workshops. According to organizers, Gamescom is the largest trade fair and event for interactive games and entertainment in Europe.
