Off to Europe, and the opening games of the Champions League there. Brendan Rodgers took his Celtic side into the Nou Camp to face Barcelona. The Scottish champs, were back in the continental event for the first time in three year, and were coming into this contest off a 5-1 pasting of rivals Rangers this past weekend. But they would be stepping up in weight class against the Spanish giants, with Lionel Messi and their front line providing plenty of proof.

We pick things up in the third minute, and after a corner, Neymar is going to lays the ball off to Messi, and the blonde bombshell fires it home to make it 1-nil.

The Scottish champs would look to fight back, and are on the attack when Moussa Dembele is tripped by Marc-Andre ter stegen, earning the keeper a card.

The Celtic forward who had a hat-trick in his last game steps up from the spot but is denied, keeping it 1-nil.

And any momentum the visitors had, would be gone, because two minutes later, the peroxide pair are at it again, as Neymar and Messi play a lovely 1-2, and it is 2-nil.

Second half, and it becomes ridiculous, Neymar getting into the act, as he unleashes this perfectly placed free-kick in the 50th minute. Stunning strike that the keeper cannot stop and it is three-nil.

And the Brazilian becomes provider a few minutes later, crossing in from the left, and seeing Andres Iniesta come full bore into it for a thunderous strike. 4-nil.

It gets worse for the visitors, as the Catalans then break out -- with the M-S-N trio, Luis Suarez takes it out on the right and his cross is stabbed home by Messi to complete his hat-trick -- 5-nil after 60 minutes.

Suarez would get in on the action 15 later, as he makes a run and perfectly chests it down and fires it home. 6 at that point he adds another as Barca roll to a 7-nil win.

Sanchez scores late to salvage point for visiting Gunners

Off to the Parc des Princes as PSG are hosting Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

And the Frenchman would not like how things start -- in the opening minute the hosts are out on the attack, and Serge Aurier's cross is deftly directed in by Edison Cavani as the French champs lead 1-nil.

The PSG striker would be a menace all night and should have had another, Marco Verratti's pass is bungled by the defence, and the Uruguayan somehow misses the open net.

Second half and more calamity by the Arsenal defence, as the ball ricochets of Laurent Koscielny and right to Cavani, but he fires it right at David Ospina. It remains 1-nil.

And those misses would cost the Parisiennes, as in the 77th minute the Gunners are on the attack, this strike is saved by the keeper, but Alexis Sanchez is able to fire it home. 1-1 is how it ends rescuing a point for Arsenal.

In other action, Besiktas grab a 1-1 draw against Benfica. Napoli came from behind to beat Dynamo Kiev. Joshua Kimmich scored twice as Bayern picked up their Champions League record 13th staight home win crushing Rostov 5-nil. Atletico edged PSV, the Dutch should have done better, missing a spot kick, and having a goal disallowed. Basel and Ludogorets played to a 1-1 draw. And the match between Man City and Borussia Moenchengladbach was postponed due to torrential rain.
