Hollande, Merkel slam Russia over Aleppo,leave door open for sanctions

Hours ahead of an EU summit on Russia's role in Syria, leaders from France and Germany have warned that they will not exclude the possibility of imposing sanctions on Russia.

French President Francois Hollande said what happened in Aleppo is a "war crime". He added that everything that can constitute a threat to Russia can be useful, while German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that they "cannot remove" the option of sanctions.
