Clinton campaign to participate in vote recount in Wisconsin

11-27-2016 10:33 BJT

President-elect Donald Trump won Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin by just over 100,000 votes. The razor-thin victories in those states pushed him above the 270 votes needed for victory in the Electoral College.

The Clinton camp say they intended to participate in the Wisconsin recount to ensure the process proceeds in a fair manner. Although experts say there is virtually no chance of overturning the final result, the recounts could reignite debate over the legitimacy of Trump's election.

The chatter is already fueled by Clinton's lead in the popular vote, which now stands at more than two million. The Democratic nominee lost by a margin of around 20-thousand votes in Wisconsin, 70-thousand in Pennsylvania and 10-thousand votes in Michigan.
