Violence has erupted between protesters and police in Paris, as trade unions and activists held a demonstration on Saturday.

Protesters threw projectiles and police in riot gear responded with tear gas. The incident happened during a march organized by French unions. Hundreds marched from the Place de la Republique to the Place de la Bastille square to call for social change.

Some protesters believe the elections won't be enough to change things. They say it will take a mobilization in the streets and in social movements to end what they consider the deterioration of society.
