Editor's note: As the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is soon to be held here in Beijing from May 14 to 15, CCTV.com Panview team goes into universities and talk to some young scholars from countries en route the B&R to find out what they are thinking of this initiative.

In today's episode of Insights on Belt & Road, the CCTV.com Panview team features an interview with Maximilian Römer, Yenching scholar at Peking University, who comes from Germany. He talks about the global transformational impact of China's New Silk Road, which "might reshape my life for next 50 years."

Germany plays a pivotal role in China's Belt and Road Initiative, serving as a key economic and security cooperation partner to connect Europe with China, particularly in regards to forming a new security framework for Eurasia and overcoming the challenges of Climate Change.

The German scholar believes that the initiative will not only benefit his homeland but also the rest of the world, since his nation holds a long and rich history of boosting trade and investment ties with China and other B&R countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Römer also highlighted how Berlin hopes Beijing can encourage both nations to work together when exploring and discovering new markets.

He explains this and more.
