Now there are just 22 days left until the Opening Ceremony in Rio and the first Olympics ever held in South America.

As part of the final preparations, Brazil's interim President Michel Temer met members of his country's Olympic delegation at the nation's capital Brasilia on Wednesday. Around 60 athletes joined the local Olympic Committee President Carlos Nuzman, who's also chairman of Rio 2016 Organising Committee.

London 2012 Judo gold medallist Sarah Menezes delivered a jersey from Team Brazil to Temer.

In his speech, the acting head of state pledged that the financial crisis that has hit Rio's state coffers wouldn't affect the games.

The 75-year-old also paraphrased the founder of the International Olympic Committee Pierre de Coubertin and added "For us, it's important to take part. But also to win."
