Full coverage: China Tiangong-2 Space Lab Launch

For more, we are joined in the studio by Professor Yang Yuguang from the China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, and Eric Johnson, senior editor from Caixin Media and former China correspondent with Space News.

Q1. As mentioned by our reporter Guan Yang at the Jiuquan satellite launch center, the Tiangong-1 was in essence a spacecraft that could be sent to specific targets. Tiangong-2, however, will serve as the first space lab. What more can you tell us on the differences between Tiangong 1 and 2?

Q2. The launch and docking of both Tiangong-2 and Shenzhou-11 spacecraft are key to China’s space station construction. What is the difference between a space lab and a space station?

Q3. What has been equipped on board the Tiangong-2 to meet the strictest test requirements for as many as 14 key tests?

Q4. What is the value of China's space program from the perspective of scientific and economic development?

Q5. A full system test and a simulation flight were conducted before the launch mission, involving many units across China. Tell us about the system and how they are coordinating with each other?
