The International Youth Hockey Tournament concluded in Beijing, as 20 teams from three countries took to the ice and exchanged their experiences during the six-day event.

The squads are comprised of players between the ages of 8-11. The Chinese teams mostly come five provinces in the country. There are also five teams from Russia and two from South Korea. It aims to provide a stage for hockey communication between Asia and Europe, and support the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

The final came down to Chinese club Little Wolf Beijing and SKA St. Petersburg. The Russian side were dominant in the game, winning 12-0 to claim the title, but despite lop-sided resutls, insiders still see a bright future for Chinese hockey.

"Our foundation provides full support to the event. It's a great opportunity for the two countries to communicate with each other. Currently there is a huge gap between Chinese and Russian hockey. Those kids have a great passion towards the game and youth hockey is growing fast in China. I believe Chinese hockey will get stronger in the near future," said Igor Baradachev, Timchenko Foundation Deputy General Director.
