The largest human migration for the 2017 Chinese New Year will kick off on January the 13th and will last forty days. Transporation authorities says a large portion of the population is set to be on the move as usual, making an expected 3 billion passenger trips in total.
Roads and highways will shoulder most of that traffic flow. 85 percent of travels will be happening there. Following that is the railway, which is expected to send some 350 million passengers.
On the aviation side, some 58 million passengers are expected take planes during the travel rush. Security on the roads and at transportation centers will be high during these 6 weeks in response to a steep surge in traveller numbers.
