How is the Taiwan public responding to the Kuomintang Party leader's Mainland trip?

A recent survey shows 45.9% of residents support continued communication with the Mainland, while 34% oppose the exchanges.

Nearly 60 percent think Taiwan will benefit from strong trade ties with the Mainland. They think the Mainland's purchase of agricultural products will improve farmers' livelihoods. 

The poll also indicates over 70 percent agree that influx of Mainland tourists is contributing to the island's economy, and 45 percent support young people pursuing a career on the Mainland.
