Special Report: 60th Anniversary of PRC |
The celebrations for the 60 anniversary of the People's Republic have not only been the focus of overseas Chinese, but also some foreign experts on Chinese studies.
A US expert who has been conducting research on diplomatic policy has highly appraised the National Day celebrations and China's development.
William Jones is the Washington Bureau Chief of the Executive Intelligence Review. He's an expert on diplomatic policies, who watched China's National Day celebrations on CCTV International.
He says the military parade and pageant display a miniature of China's 60-year history. And the evening gala represents a colorful nation consisting of 56 ethnic groups.
Jones does not view the military equipment as a threat to world security. He says one must understand the history of New China and the PLA. Jones says the PLA can not be neglected when celebrating China's 60 year-old birthday.
Jones also says he could feel the Chinese pride in the remarkable achievements they have made in the past 6 decades.
He believes China will continue to be the focus of the world in the next 50 years, and relations with the US will be enhanced.
