APEC leaders have opened the second and final day of their meeting in Singapore. A joint declaration is expected to be issued when the summit concludes later today.

Chinese President Hu Jintao also attended the second session of the APEC leaders' meeting on Sunday. This year's APEC summit theme has been "Sustaining Growth, Connecting the Region." APEC member economies represent more than half of the global economy. In yesterday's meeting, APEC leaders agreed to work towards establishing a Pacific-wide free trade area. In addition to economic cooperation, the leaders' declaration will include climate change, energy and food security.
