China opposes Obama meeting Dalai Lama

The White House has confirmed that US President Barack Obama will meet with the Dalai Lama in Washington in about two weeks.

China has been resolutely opposing the visit, and President Obama having contact with the Dalai Lama in any name or any form. It says this position has been consistent and clear. China is urging the US to realize the high sensitivity of Tibet-related issues, and handle them properly to avoid further undermining bilateral ties.
