Yi Jianlian injury confirmed

Chinese basketball player Yi Jianlian is returning to the bench due to injury. The New Jersey Nets star has begun treatment on a sprained right knee ligament after an MRI confirmed the injury. There is no timetable set for the 7-footer's return.

Yi was hurt in the New Jersey Nets' 79-68 loss at the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday. Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace fell and rolled into Yi's leg halfway into the third quarter, sending the Chinese star to the floor. Teammates helped Yi off the court.

Ginobili slaps bat out of air

How quick is Spurs guard Manu Ginobili? He recently demonstrated the speed of his reflexes at a Spurs-Kings game, which was delayed because of a bat swooping across the floor.

Just when it looked like nobody could deal with the situation, Ginobili came to the rescue. The Argentinean slapped the bat out of the air with his left hand, before bending down to scoop it up off the floor and handing it over to an NBA court-side official.

The bad news is that the bat bit Ginobili, and the basketball star had to endure medical injections to guard against rabies.
