The Chinese Embassy in London has held a "China & Britain Forum" at the annual conference of the UK's governing Labor party. The event comes just as China is about to celebrate its 60th anniversary.

In a speech at the forum, Chinese Ambassador Fu Ying recounted the country's achievements over the past six decades, and highlighted the tremendous changes since the nation's "Reform & Opening-Up."

Fu Ying, Chinese Ambassador to Britain, said, "The high-level contact is much more than grass-roots exchange between China and Britain. It even includes other Western nations. The annual conference is a good chance to talk with those from all walks of life."

Under the theme of "Partnership from Pittsburgh to Copenhagen," attendees at the forum showed their interest in cooperation to deal with climate change.

Ed Miliband, British Secretary of State for Energy & Climate Change, praised Chinese President Hu Jintao's speech at the UN Climate Change Summit.

More than a hundred Labor party members attended the forum. They say China is playing an important role on the international stage.
