South Korea’s National Assembly is scheduled to hold its third round of hearings into the corruption and influence-peddling scandal involving President Park Geun-hye and her longtime friend Choi Soon-sil.

According to Yonhap news agency, the session is expected to focus on Park’s alleged inaction and her whereabouts at the time of the deadly Sewol Ferry sinking in April 2014 that left more than 300 people dead. There are allegations that she neglected her duties as she was reportedly unavailable for several hours in the immediate aftermath of the disaster.

The presidential office argues Park was being updated with written reports, but it has yet to provide an account of her actions. Lawmakers will grill 16 figures, including her former aides and medical experts.
