Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping has held talks with his Bulgarian counterpart during his stay in Sofia. Both leaders have pledged to further cement the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping received a warm welcome from Bulgaria's vice president, Angel Marin.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic ties.

Xi Jinping said his visit aimed mainly to celebrate the anniversary and promote cooperation between the two countries.

He reviewed bilateral relations over the past six decades, saying it was a good example of friendly co-existence between countries with different social systems.

He said both sides should maintain mutual respect and seek win-win cooperation. They should work together to safeguard common interests to ensure the long-term development of bilateral ties and bring benefit to their peoples.
